The meaning of the personal petitions
Реклама
“Give us this day our daily bread” asks for what is needed to live today, without stockpiling fear of tomorrow. “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive” ties the forgiveness we receive to the forgiveness we give.
“Lead us not into temptation” is a request for help not to fall, and “deliver us from evil” closes the prayer by asking for protection. These are simple requests that fit any day.
